DRIVING COURSES IN ENGLISH

Our school has been carrying out driving courses for English-speaking people since 2009. Our qualified and highly experienced instructor Mr Wojciech Tamowski (e-mail: wtamowski@tlen.pl , phone +48 696 931 204) will carefully guide you through the learning stages and help you to comply with formalities required to take the national driving exam.
This kind of course has an individual form - a student makes a decision when he can take lessons. The course includes two parts - theoretical lessons and practice lessons. During the course a trainee is obligated to take a mock theoretical test containig 18 questions - the same as on the national exam. The candidate obtains a certificate confirming the completion of the basic training course for drivers.

Theoretical lessons
Theoretical lessons take place in a classroom of our school located on Batorego Street, next to "Pole Mokotowskie" underground station. Before the first lesson a candidate for driver is examined by a doctor and obtains a medical certificate stating that he satisfies the medical standards for driving vehicles.
Theoretical lessons are carried out with using a presentation which includes slide shows and films. A student gets a CD with test questions in English. It is also possible to buy a handbook about Polsih traffic (concerning especially road signs, intersections rules, first aid etc.). According to Polish regulations there have to be at least 30 lesson hours of theory (1 lesson hour = 45 minutes).
Practice lessons
Practice lessons include excercises on our manoeuvring yard and driving in the city. Most of the time we spend driving in the area of Bródno - the district of Warsaw where the examination centre is located (Wojewódzki Ośrodek Ruchu Drogowego, ul. Odlewnicza 8) and national driving exams are held.
Practice lessons are conducted using Toyota Yaris with 6-speed gearbox - the kind of car which is also used during the national driving exam. The price of the course includes 31 lesson hours of practice (1 lesson hour = 60 minutes), but if you need more practice to built up your confidence you can buy extra lessons.
National driving exam
The national driving exam for English-speaking people takes place on Odlewnicza Street. Each candidate for driver has to apply for the exam individually, but our instructor can accompany you to help to comply with all formalities (to fill in an application form, to set a date of the exam, to make a payment).
The first stage of the exam is the theoretical test carried out in an oral form. In the examination room there are three people - a candidate for driver, a sworn translator and examiner. The sworn translator must be organized by a examinee, but we can help you to arrange that. Theoretical test takes place about two weeks after the registration.
The second stage is the practice exam, which can be taken only after passing theoretical test. In order to pass the practical exam it is required to pass its both parts - manoeuvring and driving in the city. The sworn translator has to attend it as well. The practice exam includes three examination tasks on the manoeuvring yard and then driving in the city, which lasts about 40-45 minutes.
The driving licence is ready to be received from the driving licence department 3-4 weeks after passing the exam.
The price of the course includes:
- 30 lesson hours of theory;
- 31 lesson hours of practice;
- CD with test questions in English;
- tea, coffee and a nice atmosphere!
The price of the course does not include:
- medical examination - 50 zł;
- the cost of the national driving exam - 40 zł + 122 zł (theory and practice);
- the cost of sworn translator service;
- the cost of printing a driving licence - about 80 zł;
- handbook about Polish traffic in English - 49 zł - it is not required.
